BACKDOOR RECRUITMENT IN NIGERIAN


Preferably, most of Nigerian graduates prefer to secure a white collar job rather than  brown collar job. Securing a good job or a juicy position was never a easy task, you must belong to a society before you can secured the job. another criteria is you must know the owner of the organisation or business before you given a chance to come for interview if any, some influential graduates doesn't even go for exam or interview they were just issued acceptance slip or form to endorsed. The people that falls in these categories are given a writing short note to the MD'S, CEO and CHAIRMEN, indicating the candidate or the bearer of that short note is their candidate and he/ she should be given a favourable consideration.



Presumably, recruitment should be based on merit not favour, That's why many of those who use the backdoor for recruitment always under perform when it comes to discharging their obligation of duty. Those who benefit from this backdoor recruitment relatives the system employment as decay and rotten beyond repair, even the undergraduate that are their close relation have gotten upfront job ahead of those that are in labour market. The labour market as filled up and even spilling over due to excess job seekers.



Unemployment is a serious syndrome that federal government were unable to cure even with the curing vaccine at their disposal, this plight continue to make the country looks derail from it rail line of employment. Today many graduate has chosen a brown collar job in exchange for white collar job, why some were engaged in others tedious job like hawking, street re fouling, okada rider and taxi driver. all these listed menial job now are hot in NIgeria that even the white collar job is not paying like the brown collar because of the fear of being sacked or appointment termination.



Instead of being employed as a full-fledge, they rather employed a program or contract staff and enlist on a regular payroll and forward to federal government for salary subvention, if the money was paid into their account they will deduct the deductable amount before paying the casual workers the reminants. with your degree(b.sc) getting a good job is not guarantee, except you are well connected to the right people at the right time.
