The university non-teaching staff suffer many brunt from the university teaching staff through their believe that the non-teaching are not doing their expectation. But let me give the critical analysis on who are the art of university, some of the lecturers don't know where to direct their student's when a academic academic matters arise.
The academic affairs unit, are the unit that handle most of the administrative issues concerning student matters. They implements they policy that the business committee of senate (bcos) enact and approved. The academic affairs unit always make sure they operate in accordance with the report given to them by senate for implementation. They also make sure that interpretation of such report go with the misconduct penalty. Many student does not know where to head for when they are in trouble, either they lost their student id card or they want to transfer their studentship to another faculty and department.
Academic affairs unit, also issue withdrawal, extension of studentship and re-absorption letter to student affected or those that falls into the categories. if a student is rusticated for period of four (4) semester he can still come back and continue his programme. but many lack the basic understanding of this unit, they only found out when they have problem.
